Born on 1st Feb 1959 in paschim mednipur into on illustrious family of musicians.

His father,The great pakhawaj player pandit bhutnath deb.his father's recommendations and fortune tutleage under the guidance of legendary late pandit Sridhar Dutta ( disciple of ustad keramatullah khan),Dr prabir bhatacharya ( disciple of ustad keramatullah khan) and learn sometimes from pandit damarupani bhatacharya.Biswajit is performed with famous musicians in famous programs.

He performed and riyaz with pandit chinmoy lahiri in 80 s and after he join with pandit dinanath Mishra.

Biswajit also performed in tarongo fusion created by his guru late Dr prabir bhatacharya.

Tarongo fusion

As a composer, biswajit ji has been performed in percussion ensembles since the mid- 1990’s, starting with his own tabla ensemble in Kolkata in 90 s, as well as tabla ensembles at the damarupani Sangeet samiti and jayi music academy (Kalyani). He has also been commissioned and performed for the Tarongo fusion, south Indian fusion,jazz fusion. His dozens of compositions have gone beyond the sphere of pure percussion to include North Indian instruments, south Indian instruments,jazz instruments compositions for fusions.he play instruments like pakhwaj , srikhol,Banga

Kongo,snare drum, throne (stool) and sometimes the bass drum others .

Biswajis music reaches beyond the scope of Classical music to include performances and relationship with musicians such as Mr woork.

Biswajit has elevated the tabla as a musical instrument in its own right, both through solo performances as a main artist and through his accompaniment of others. Biswajit has been devoted to the classic tabla for 37 years without interruption and is considered one of the most melodic players alive.He was also accompanist of doverlane music competition,Ravi kichlu foundation, radio music competition, national music competition and others.. In age 7 he also play with sharafat Hussain khan in concert. In 17 he was performed

with pandit sosodhor Dutta in Kolkata.

A phenomenal and outstanding Tabla player, he is well known for mesmerising and captivating his audience with his power, His meteoric rise in popularity in the field of traditional Indian Classical music has led biswajit to regularly collaborate with different genres such as Jazz, Classical, hip hop, folk, blues music and the world of contemporary music and dance. This makes him an imaginative and sensitive musician, having an elegant and poignant style of his own. Biswajit's music-biswajit deb tryst with Tabla has now seen years of hard work, struggle and glory, but the rhythms of his childhood kept haunting him, he knew some
day he has to do some thing that would realize a fraction of his childhood
dreams, inspired as he always been, he composed fusions.his
composition from the roots of Indian rhythm, he tried to use all the age old
traditional percussions that are now a part of our history, our present, the
legends, our devotions and almost everything we are. He has used
Pakhawaj, Dholok, Bangla Dhol and Srikhol , mridangam,Banga kanga
that are used mainly in religious offerings like instruments like Sai drum ,bass,and African instrument dj MBE etc.
and traditional and tribal percussions like Madal, Dafli, Khanjira. He also
used Western Aquastic Drums for the blending with these all instruments.
To maintain the purity of my music he has used drum for the blending with
these all instruments based on his composition purely on the Indian Taals.
Biswajit was artist of “sophistication and refinement , Biswajit
is a melody king. his orchestra tarongo fusion directed by dr prabir bhatacharyaof completeness he
blended his percussions with vocals, the vo and jazz instruments,the jazz and Indian percussion are createdodao the rhythmic nature of his composition. These voices arpercussions are play also disciples of dr prabir bhatacharya.He has also been privileged to be invited to perform in pt shyam Ganguly birthday occasions and has also performed at a private function held by in home.Biswajit has played for numerous live recordings including Channel Doordarshan bangla , Akash Bangla,Tara tv ,atn Bangla ,dd2,dd7 and also on CDs with studio.

Biswajit also play jugalbandi with father legend pt bhutnath deb first time in RABINDRA Bharati University Jorasanko campus Thakur Bari in 70 s infront dagar Saheb,pt Falguni mitra, Vidushi sisir kana Dhar Choudhary etc.He plays several other drums besides the tabla which include the sri-khole, the pakhwaj, the dholak the nal, and the banga-kanga. However, it is the unusual way that he plays the bnaya that has brought him attention. He plays the bass drum-like instruments.Biswajit gave his first public performance at the age of 7. By 15, he performed India and has played at almost every major music halls in the India since.he was tabla accompanist to pt chinmoy lahiri from 1979 to mid 80 s .he has performed and composed with musicians globally. Over the past 30 years, he has also performed and recorded in duets with his guru. From the farukabad Gharana he has played with girija Devi pt dinanath mishra pt jotin bhatacharya pt sosodhor Dutta pt Bholanath Mishra. He also going uttarpradesh tour in 90 s with pt dinanath mishra and he performed in many venues last 30 years in India. In addition to solo performances and recordings, Biswajit worked with sitar players pt Sudhir das Sharma , vidushi Jaya biswas Subroto Roy Chowdhury,Pt.Manilal Nag,pt Soumitra lahiri sarod players buddhadev dasgupta and jotin bhatacharya Ustad bahadur khan samarendranath sikhdar, flutist gour gowswami santoor player bhajanlal sopori and vocalists Pandit Dinanath Mishra, pandit dr prakash sangeet and pandit chinmoy Lahiri,he makes many compositions and taals like birkaswari.He was also performed with reputed musicians in his own house mehfil.He also a good musical relationship with abroad musicians like Alex obert, Jonathan Mayer,Aman urim, Narendra lawrance and many others

He is not a professional Pakhwaj player but he play Pakhwaj in many historical concerts with famous artists. Like ustad Fahim Uddin dagar,satyakinkar Banerjee,Falguni mitra,debobrato singho Thakur,gundecha brothers, Zia Mohiuddin Dagar, ustad imrat khan (surbahar) , siya

ram Tiwari ,asgari bai,itu Banerjee , Mushtaq Ali Khan and others.biswajit also a disciple of his great father pakhwaj maestro pandit bhutnath deb.biswajit belongs to a famous Traditional Folk Musical Family, carrying out the lineage since last three generations; his Late Grandfather was an extremely knowledgeable legendary srikhol Player from West Bengal.And he attend many other pakhwaj artists workshops like pandit vithol das gujrati's workshop.he also attend as a pakhwaj and tabla player in taalvadya concert.he was a part time pakhwaj teacher in damarupani music college and he also go as a invited teacher in many other institutions
